Warning Signs of Teens Contemplating Suicide
The Help Hotline Crisis Center, Inc. lists the following warning signs of suicidal teenagers:

  • Talking about suicide;
  • Having trouble eating or sleeping;
  • Experiencing drastic changes in behavior;
  • Withdrawing from friends and social activities;
  • Losing interest in hobbies, work or school;
  • Preparing for death by making out a will and final arrangements;
  • Giving away prized possessions;
  • Having attempted suicide before;
  • Taking unnecessary risks;
  • Having had a recent severe loss;
  • Being preoccupied with death and dying;
  • Losing interest in personal appearance;
  • Increasing the usage of alcohol or other drugs.
